Swedish Grid Innovator Flower Secures €25M Funding to Drive Clean Energy Solutions for Society

Flower, the Stockholm-based innovator in energy grid solutions, has successfully wrapped up a substantial Series A funding round, raising €25 million (290M SEK). Northzone spearheaded the investment, with notable backing from 82an Invest and Zebkei Invest. This funding round also sees Pär-Jörgen Pärson of Northzone joining Flower’s board of directors, signalling a new phase of strategic growth for the company.

Founded in 2020 by John Diklev, Flower has rapidly established itself as a leader in integrating battery energy storage systems into the grid. The company serves a diverse clientele, including electric car fleets, home battery owners, data centers, and solar parks. Infusing new capital will propel Flower’s mission to enhance grid predictability and flexibility while unlocking new revenue streams for renewable energy assets.

At the cutting edge of battery storage innovation, Flower is extending its influence across Europe. The company’s expertise lies in merging advanced battery systems with grid infrastructure to bolster stability and adaptability. Utilizing sophisticated AI software, Flower’s solutions aim to refine the predictability of energy systems and meet the demands of both producers and consumers. By integrating technology with a versatile array of energy assets, Flower plays a pivotal role in shifting towards a fossil-free energy landscape. Furthermore, the company is gaining traction as a significant player in the development of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), earning accolades from grid operators throughout Europe.

“We are building something completely new for the future grid: enhancing predictability and flexibility of global energy systems, while simultaneously yielding extra revenue streams for renewable asset owners,” John Diklev says. “Key new partnerships and our recent acquisition of Sweden’s largest battery park demonstrate the exciting current momentum that is only growing.”
